BeerGram – Brewery Discovery, Gifting & Business Platform

Project Overview

BeerGram is a brewery-focused digital platform built for both beer lovers and brewery businesses. The platform connects users with local breweries, beers, events, social activity, gifting, and brewery discovery, while also giving breweries tools to manage their business presence, events, products, digital menu boards, customer engagement, and AI-powered operations.
The product includes a consumer-facing mobile app for iOS and Android, along with business-side features for breweries, event organizers, and internal platform management. Because the platform combines social features, payments, location-based discovery, event ticketing, AI assistance, menu boards, gifting, and business operations, it requires continuous QA coverage across many different user roles and workflows.

Client Requirement

The client needed a dedicated QA process to protect product quality while the platform continued to grow with new features and frequent updates. Since BeerGram includes multiple complex modules, the main requirement was to test every release carefully before it reached users, breweries, and business accounts.
The QA focus included validating user-side mobile flows, brewery-side dashboard functionality, business event management, gift sending and redemption, AI chatbot behavior, Google Maps and location-based discovery, social feeds, notifications, product listings, digital menu boards, ticket purchasing, QR ticket verification, and regression coverage after every update.

My Role

I worked as the main and only QA Engineer on BeerGram, responsible for testing the product across mobile apps, business dashboard features, and ongoing release updates. My role covered complete functional testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, API validation, AI chatbot testing, bug reporting, release verification, and close collaboration with developers, designers, and product stakeholders.
Because I was the sole QA on the project, I handled the testing responsibility end-to-end: understanding requirements, preparing test scenarios, validating new builds, identifying defects, reproducing issues, verifying fixes, checking edge cases, and making sure new releases did not break existing functionality.

Work Completed

I performed end-to-end QA across BeerGram’s iOS and Android applications, validating core user flows such as account creation, login, brewery discovery, beer browsing, event discovery, check-ins, social activity, gifting, gift redemption, user profiles, preferences, feeds, stories, notifications, private chats, and location-based brewery search.
I tested business-side functionality including business login, brewery dashboard access, product creation and management, event creation, event organizer flow, paid and free events, ticket purchasing, QR ticket scanning, staff/location management, business feed sections, privacy settings, forums, and dashboard settings.
I also tested BeerGram’s AI-related features, including user-side chatbot behavior, business-side AI assistance, and Half Pint AI workflows. This included validating conversation flow, response relevance, fallback behavior, AI-generated suggestions, content-related flows, and regression behavior after AI updates.
For payment and event workflows, I validated paid event ticket purchasing, multi-ticket purchase scenarios, gift-related payments, redemption flows, QR scan verification, payment-related UI states, success/failure handling, and edge cases around incomplete or interrupted flows.
I also tested map and location-based functionality, including brewery discovery, distance-based search, nearby brewery sections, Google Maps behavior, location permissions, routing issues, and search accuracy. These areas were important because BeerGram depends heavily on helping users find breweries and events near them.
During each release cycle, I performed smoke testing, regression testing, build verification, bug verification, and release validation. I reported issues with clear steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, screenshots, screen recordings, device details, and environment information so the development team could resolve defects faster.

Result / Impact

My QA work helped the client maintain product quality while BeerGram continued to grow into a deep brewery ecosystem with mobile, business, AI, event, gifting, social, and payment-based features. By owning QA across ongoing releases, I helped identify functional bugs, UI/UX issues, map problems, payment flow issues, notification defects, AI behavior issues, and regression risks before they affected users or brewery businesses.
This testing process helped improve app stability, reduce release risk, support faster feature delivery, and create a smoother experience for beer lovers, breweries, business owners, and event organizers using the platform.
