About the Project

I have worked with NGOs determined to leave a positive impact in the sphere they specialize in. After viewing some of my previous booklets, brochures, and poster designs for NGOs concerned with natural resources, the client reached out to me to breathe life into his Technical Report booklet. This report encompasses his research and efforts in managing human-python conflicts in Bangladesh. The booklet is to be used by select members involved in potentially life-threatening situations. The cause alone made the project a welcome challenge.
We met over a video call to discuss the project, where he shared his lack of budget but highlighted the importance of his work. I simply couldn't say no to the cause and dove straight into burning midnight oil for on-time delivery.

Turning Disappointment into Award Winning Praise

I shared drafts of the booklet, which were frankly underwhelming and not what the client was looking for. Shrugging negativity aside and holding myself accountable for what I promised, I ditched traditional designs and utilized the provided stunning photography as the guiding philosophy for the overall booklet design. I let my gut lead the process, and the results couldn't be any spectacular.
The client exclaimed with excitement and didn't delay the windfall of praises, going as far as calling it

National Geographic worthy design

I was happier than a toddler at an ice cream shop and went straight to completing the project, utilizing the high from the praises to further fuel the excellence in design.

The Extras that made the Project Worthwhile

The client had some data and maps that were more scientific and less aesthetic. Not on my watch, I said to myself, and painstakingly converted every detail into something of an artwork that conveyed information while not being a sore to look at.
I took it upon myself to read the content carefully and correct any unseen mistakes that slipped by the editor, something that was appreciated by the client. Furthermore, being somewhat of a self-proclaimed maestro with photo editing, I simply couldn't resist touching up photos to fit the design better.
Additionally, I offered to illustrate a step-by-step guide on immediate to-dos after being bitten by a snake. This improved the practicality of the book for not only intended users, but also for the common folk who happen to peruse through it.
Finally, the section I pushed for was the dedication page to celebrate the individuals who gave their lives for a cause they were passionate about.
