Creating unique visuals for a conventional product

How do you make a database useful yet visually engaging? That's the challenge I tackled as the Founder and Core designer at Launch Studio while developing the branding and product design for the Business Ideas Database.
Thanks to our design, the product generated 400 waitlist sign-ups within just two days.

Our process

User analysis Identified entrepreneurs and indie developers' need for quick access, intuitive filters, and efficient navigation.
Competition analysis Given the abundance of similar idea lists and forums, I prioritized striking visuals and a polished user experience.
Flow Adapted proven interaction patterns from platforms like ElevenLabs, Gemini, and Airbnb to suit the product's unique requirements.

Creating the brand

When creating the branding for Business Ideas Database, it was important to contrast the raw, unpolished feel of competing products.
We used premium yet playful colors, paired with simple gradients that add energy to the product and help it stand out - on social media and beyond. The mix of sans-serif and serif fonts also improves readability and gives the logo a distinctive look.

The design work brought the product to life and played a huge role in our early success — over 2.5k page visitors and 500 waitlist signups in just the first 3 days. - Omar Soliman Co-founder of Business Ideas Database

Turning heads with an eye-catching page

Sharing business ideas lists and simple databases is common along entrepreneurs and developers on social media.
To make Business Ideas Database stand out we used a combination of friendly colors and complex clay-like illustrations throughout the product.

Bringing fun to a "function first" product

To transform the database from just another list into something genuinely fun and engaging, we introduced visually playful yet highly functional idea categories.
We showcased our charming clay illustrations front-and-center, making filters impossible to miss.

Results that speak volumes

Within just three days of launch, the Business Ideas Database captured significant attention, achieving:
2,500+ page views in the first 72 hours
400+ waitlist sign-ups within two days
That kind of early attention showed us that the mix of playful visuals, smooth navigation, and clean filtering was doing exactly what intended: helping people explore ideas without the usual friction.

Working with Adam from Launch Studio was one of the best decisions we made. His speed, attention to detail, and willingness to revise fast made the entire process smooth. Without his designs and delivery, the launch wouldn’t have been nearly as successful. Highly recommend working with him. - Omar Soliman Co-founder of Business Ideas Database
