A cohesive, intuitive, and visually engaging fitness app concept that I designed and built in Figma, focused on clean navigation, motivating visuals, and a streamlined user experience.
Project type: Responsive mobile app + branding
Role: Sole UX/UI designer + brand designer
Industry: Fitness
Tools: Figma
Duration: Spring 2023
Project Goals
The objective of this sample project was to help Tribe Family Fitness create a new responsive workout app, in order to allow families to utilize workouts for all ages. Users would be able to easily begin a workout, search for personalized options, and view statistics.
Design Process
In preparation for the project I created a Style Guide that would allow for consistency throughout the project. Additionally I set up Components within Figma in order to reuse common elements across the project. I repeated this process for both Mobile and Desktop components.
After an initial wireframe, I replaced the placeholders with the final designs for both mobile and desktop.
After finalizing the designs for Mobile and Web I then created a Dark Mode version for each of these. The Dark Mode option gives users a clean and readable alternative that carries over the same branding and feel of the Light Mode app.
Working on Tribe taught me a number of skills for designing and branding from the ground up, from defining and strategizing on optimal user experiences and content architecture, to building consistent UI.
The end result was a clean and modern mobile and web experience that took into account users’ needs surrounding family-based fitness.
