AI Chat Assistant for Axes Crypto Platform

I was assigned as the lead product designer for Axes, a new crypto platform built to make digital asset management simple and secure. Tasked with designing the entire product from the ground up, I was responsible for creating end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs across all core features—from onboarding and wallet setup to trading and transaction tracking.

Through user research, we found that most crypto platforms were intimidating and complex, especially for beginners. The abundance of jargon, charts, and unfamiliar processes led to high drop-off rates—particularly during trading flows.

This raised a core design question: how could we make trading crypto feel as simple, friendly, and intuitive as texting a friend?

To solve this challenge, I designed Genie, a chat-based AI trading assistant built to make crypto trading feel conversational and effortless. While exploring solutions, we asked ourselves: “What if users could just type ‘Buy 5 Solana’—and it just works?”

With Genie, users can type or speak natural language requests like “I want to buy Bitcoin”. Genie then responds with a smart, friendly confirmation that includes relevant coin data, recent price trends, and any helpful context. Once the user confirms, they choose how to pay—via wallet or card—and the transaction is completed seamlessly. This flow removes friction and lowers the barrier for anyone entering the world of crypto.

By prioritizing trust and clarity—through confirmations before transactions, simple language, strong error handling, and clear visual feedback—we created a crypto trading experience that felt intuitive and reliable.
