As a designer with a deep understanding of both brand identity and contemporary aesthetics, I embarked on a project to reimagine two of the world’s most iconic logos—IKEA and Tesla. The goal was to shift these brands into new visual territories, aligning them with futuristic and alternative design philosophies while still maintaining their core identities.

IKEA: A Cyberpunk, Neo-Tokyo Aesthetic

For IKEA, a brand synonymous with minimalism and Scandinavian simplicity, I sought to push its design into the vibrant, high-tech world of Cyberpunk and Neo-Tokyo. Drawing inspiration from the chaotic yet visually stunning environments often depicted in cyberpunk media, I created a logo that feels both modern and futuristic. The design evokes the neon-lit streets of a futuristic metropolis, combining bold lines with Japanese katakana text for added cultural depth.
Typography: I retained IKEA’s recognizable rounded letterforms but modified them with sharp, futuristic edges to align with the cyberpunk aesthetic. The inclusion of Japanese katakana adds a global, neo-futuristic touch, making the brand feel at home in the streets of Neo-Tokyo.
Color Palette: I kept the brand’s core colors of blue and yellow but deepened the saturation, giving it a more electric, neon glow. This not only pays homage to IKEA’s roots but also adapts to a tech-driven, cyber-future environment.
Overall Look: The result is a logo that feels dynamic, cutting-edge, and visually compelling. It fits into a hyper-digital world while maintaining IKEA's friendly, approachable identity.

Tesla: Retro Futurism Reimagined

Tesla has always been a brand at the forefront of innovation and futuristic design. For this project, I aimed to create a logo that blended Retro Futurism—a design movement that looks back at how the future was imagined in the past—with Tesla’s cutting-edge, forward-thinking identity.
Typography: I embraced the bold, modular forms often seen in retro-futurist typography, drawing inspiration from mid-century sci-fi visuals and 80s tech aesthetics. The letters are sleek, geometric, and softened with curves to give it a friendly, approachable feel while still feeling distinctly futuristic.
Color Palette: The red and black color scheme was intensified to evoke a sense of power and energy, yet balanced with a vintage twist using retro-inspired highlights and shadows. The subtle gradients give a nod to the glossy, space-age visions of the future that dominated design thinking in past decades.
Design Elements: The “Motors” text has been separated and given a streamlined, retro-tech look, emphasizing the engineering legacy of Tesla. The overall design bridges the gap between nostalgia and innovation, blending Tesla’s brand identity with a sense of timeless futurism.
