My representation in modern style of the famous painting "The girl with a pearl earring" by Johannes Vermeer.
Process
For the realization of this project I developed an idea by writing on paper the various steps to follow to complete the project:
I found the model to which to propose the project.
The model during the photo shooting aimed at the realization of the project.
I described my idea in detail in order to convey it in the best way to the girl with whom I would then have to work to make it happen.
I prepared what I needed;
Modern clothing, but in line with that represented in the original work.
A turban with the same colors as the original work.
A fake pearl earring handcrafted for the occasion.
I have organized the meeting by going with the model to the photo studio.
I dressed and took care of the visual aspect of the subject in order to make it conform to the idea elaborated at the start.
I have organized the photographic set using a backdrop, manage the lights and position the subject in the correct pose.
I used my camera to take the necessary photo shots.
I went through all the shots and extrapolated the best one to use for the project.
I dedicated myself to post-production using Adobe Photoshop.
Results
The end result is an exact representation of "The Girl with a Pearl Earring", the famous 1665 painting by Johannes Vermeer.
With the difference that it is represented through a modern style, a revisited style with the aim of taking up Johannes' message.
A message launched by a young woman of our times.
A young woman who, years later, manages to express beauty, simplicity, purity, but above all, mystery.
Who is that woman? What is she hiding behind her beautiful eyes?
She manages to express the desire to deepen, the desire to get to know her, to discover her.
Being able to recreate the exact image initially elaborated in my head is a unique satisfaction.
