Overview

Motion-Driven Automotive Interface is an interactive dashboard concept built in Rive.
Designed as a connected driving experience, the project explores how motion, real-time information, and interface behavior can work together as part of a unified system rather than a collection of separate controls. Every interaction is intended to feel responsive, purposeful, and interconnected, creating a dashboard that behaves more like a living product than a static interface.

Interaction System

The interface is built around a motion-driven interaction model. Holding the accelerator increases speed, updates the speed arc, and drives navigation movement in real time. Driving modes introduce different behavioral states, while environmental indicators such as weather, terrain, and sensor awareness contribute contextual information across the dashboard.
Rather than functioning as isolated UI elements, each component is designed to respond as part of a connected system.

Built in Rive

Built using multiple artboards, state machines, view models, listeners, and custom properties in Rive. The system relies on interconnected Boolean, Number, Color, and Enum properties to coordinate interface states, motion behavior, and visual feedback across the dashboard.

Navigation System

The navigation system was connected to the accelerator state, allowing the route indicator to respond dynamically to vehicle movement and acceleration behavior.

Icons Hover & Click Interactions

Each component was built with dedicated interaction states, creating responsive feedback through hover, click, and transition animations.

Icons Creation

All dashboard icons were custom designed and animated in Rive, maintaining a consistent visual language across vehicle status, driving modes, and environmental controls.

Start Button

The launch button served as the entry point to the entire experience. Its design evolved through multiple iterations, exploring different visual treatments, hover states, click interactions, and transition behaviors before becoming the trigger that activates the dashboard system.

This project helped me explore motion-driven product design, advanced interaction systems, and real-time interface behavior in Rive. It also provided an opportunity to experiment with state machines, view models, custom properties, and scalable component structures within a connected dashboard experience.
