Not just a showcase site, but a simple and effective booking system for the launch of Nunatak Sailing Company.
About
It all started by chance, on a June evening: Nicole sent me an Instagram story. Giorgia was looking for someone to design the website for her new venture, Nunatak Sailing Company, a business offering sailing trips to the Lofoten Islands for small groups.
Challenge
Nunatak had just been born, and the biggest investment was already made: Norøy, the sailboat where Giorgia and Haakon welcome their guests. Starting right away with a complex booking system would have been premature.
Instead, we designed a solution that was simple, flexible, and scalable—able to grow with the project without requiring disproportionate investment.
Process
We began with the aesthetics. Giorgia is a talented photographer and videomaker: large-scale visuals became the compass of the design. The chosen typography recalls ancient, almost runic signs, while the color palette was inspired by Norwegian seasons—from icy winters to the warmth of the midnight sun.
The real challenge was the site architecture: each tour had unique features, impossible to manage with a single template. To solve this, we created an Excel file with all the details, then imported it into Webflow’s CMS to dynamically and scalably populate the site.
Building with Webflow allowed smooth handling of dynamic elements while giving Giorgia full autonomy in managing tour availability.
For animations, we chose subtlety, letting photos and videos take center stage. Still, small details made a difference: the marquee stripes that evoke the movement of a ship, and the glass effects reminiscent of the Arctic Ocean.

Result
The outcome thrilled us—most importantly, Giorgia was happy with it. In the first 24 hours online, Nunatak received over 20 booking requests. A milestone made possible by the collective effort of all the professionals involved.
