GlowHaus Studio: Booking Flow and Owner Suite for an Independent Beauty Studio
Short description (the card blurb)
A concept booking app for a beauty studio, with a 4 step client booking flow and a private owner suite for managing the calendar, appointments, and deposits.
Case study
Concept project. I designed and built GlowHaus Studio to explore how a solo beauty professional could take bookings and manage them without juggling DMs, texts, and payment screenshots. It is not client work, and the studio, clients, bookings, and payment details shown are illustrative.

The design problem
For an independent stylist, a booking usually lives in several places at once: a chat thread for the enquiry, a transfer notification for the deposit, and a notebook or calendar for the time slot. Clients get unsure answers, and the owner has to piece together what was agreed.
I wanted to see if one connected product could replace that: a booking flow short enough that clients finish it, and an owner view that shows what is booked, what is paid, and what is still due.
The approach
A four step booking flow: Clients move through service selection, time slot, their details, and a deposit to confirm. Each step asks for one thing, so the path from “I want this service” to “I’m booked” stays short.
Slots that respect service length: Available times are based on how long the chosen service takes, so a client is not offered a slot the service cannot fit into.
A public landing page that leads to booking: The page sets the studio’s tone and keeps “Book now” within reach, so booking is the main action rather than something buried in navigation.
An owner dashboard and calendar: The owner sees upcoming appointments and the schedule in one place, instead of reconstructing the day from messages.
A single appointment record: Each booking brings together the service, time, client contact details, payment breakdown (total, deposit paid, balance due), and an activity timeline. Actions such as completing, reminding, rescheduling, and cancelling sit on the same screen.
A restrained visual identity: Warm neutrals, terracotta accents, editorial type, and photography-led layouts give it a boutique feel, while operational details stay easy to scan.
My role
I handled the UI design and frontend implementation: the landing page, the booking flow, the owner dashboard, calendar, and appointment detail screens, the information hierarchy, and the responsive layout.
Stack
React, Tailwind CSS, and Lovable, deployed on Vercel.
Outcome
A working concept that covers both sides of a booking: the client’s path to a confirmed appointment and the owner’s view of the day. The appointment detail screen is the centerpiece, because it shows how schedule, payment status, client information, and history can live in one record.
