In this project, I undertook the task of translating wireframes into intuitive and engaging design mockups for a Run Challenge app.

The primary objective was to meticulously create the user interface to not only meet the stipulated business requirements (who organizes and sponsors the running challenges) but also but also provided a seamless and enjoyable experience for users, with a sense of intuitive accessibility, compelling users to engage repeatedly with the platform.

As my role for this project is to transform the wireframes provided into high-fidelity mockups and prototypes, I conducted a comprehensive review of initial wireframes to ascertain the structural foundation and functional requirements of the application.

The design process consists of ideation/ brainstorming sessions as well as multiple design iterative process in collaborative manners with stakeholders. The stages of tasks performed can be categorized as follows;

Conceptualizing design enhancements aimed at optimizing user experience and fostering engagement

Developing intuitive navigation and aesthetic appeal that represents the brands

Iterative refinements to execute and refine the design based on user feedback and usability testing outcomes

Identifying areas to facilitate personalized tracking functionalities, context of challenge participations, integration capabilites with Strava app

Creating design systems and UI components (guidelines) to ensure design consistency in not only in terms of the design elements but also for user interactions and help developers to build seamless experiences as in the design direction.

By ideating and iterating on the design concepts, I ensured that the app was user-friendly and facilitated easy access to sign up for challenges, track activities, and join as individuals or teams.

Integration with Strava allowed for seamless distance tracking, enhancing the user experience further. The result is a mobile app that not only meets the functional needs of users but also provides a visually appealing and intuitive interface, promoting user engagement and retention.
