Introduction

Exaud is a software solution company focusing on creating custom designs and developments for Embedded, Mobile, IoT, and Wearable devices. We collaborate with brands and organizations to develop innovative solutions that help increase leads and generate demand.

Context

I started off as a freelancer, invited to work on a small project since the consulting team didn't need a full-time designer. My focus was mainly on dashboard and data visualization projects. Recently, the team asked me to overhaul the website. The existing site, built years ago, is set for a redesign to not only look more professional but also to improve SEO performance and better showcase our portfolio.

Redesign the website with SEO structures in mind. Develop a new User Interface that showcases our potential and entire portfolio. The team has chosen to focus on designing first and work on the copy afterwards.

Design Process

In the initial phase of website development, the team laid out a site map and information architecture optimized for SEO, with a specialist partner aiding in optimization. The marketing team supplied references and a brief for the visuals.

Using Figma and Photoshop I built the high-fidelity prototype.

Learnings

One thing I'd change about this process is working without copy—it's a challenge. In design, context is everything. Images should complement the copy, leading to further actions. Without copy, I sometimes felt unable to make certain design decisions.
