Overview

Taxee is a ride hailing service designed to provide affordable and reliable transportation options for elderly and families with young children in rural communities. The goal is to make it easy for anyone to get where they need to go, including errands, appointments, or leisure activities. With a focus on customer service and convenience, Taxee aims to be a valuable resource for our target audience in areas where access to transportation may be limited.

Problem Statement

In many rural communities, access to transportation can be a significant challenge for elderlies and families with young children. Public transit options may be limited, non existent or uncomfortable and private transportation can be expensive or unavailable. As a result, these groups may struggle to get to appointments, run errands, or participate in leisure activities. Taxee aims to address this problem by providing an affordable and convenient ride hailing service for these communities especially elderlies and families with young children.

The Solution

Creating an on demand ride hailing service with a popular and recognizable name in rural communities that allows users to request rides through a smartphone app.

Utilizing a network of local drivers who are familiar with the community and can provide safe and reliable transportation.

Implementing cost effective pricing strategies, to keep prices affordable for users.

Offering a range of vehicle options, including wheelchair accessible or child safety lock vehicles, to meet the different needs of different users.

Providing excellent customer service to address any concerns or issues that may arise during a ride.

Brand development

The brand name is inspired by the familiar name ‘Taxi’, which is common to many locals in rural communities and represents the transportation of people from one place to another.

The color scheme is also based on the traditional colors associated with taxis, which will help users easily recognize the brand and its services.

User Flow

This userflow depicts the actions of a new user from the launch of the application to successfully ordering a Taxee ride.

Wireframing

To begin the design process for Taxee, I created a series of low fidelity wireframes to explore the overall layout and structure of the app. These wireframes are rough, simplified sketches that focus on the main features and functionality of the app, rather than detailed design elements. It allowed me to quickly prototype the different ideas and concepts.

After refining the concepts explored in our low fidelity wireframes, I created a set of high fidelity wireframes to further detail the design and user experience of the Taxee app based on the userflow. These wireframes include more precise layout and design elements, such as typography, color, and iconography, and provide a more accurate representation of how the final app will look and feel.

Flexible prices based on a standard average transportation fare offered automatically by Taxee. Users are able to go higher or lower than this price for negotiation purposes
