Relopay is our answer to the existing problems in the loan industry, especially in Nigeria. Loan sharks operate with impunity as Nigeria is currently not an active credit-based economy. Taking a loan as a Nigerian is therefore seen as a thing to be ashamed of.

Relopay is a mobile app that is focused on helping people in tech access loans mainly for their relocation needs. A notable difference between relopay and other loan apps is that you can always have your employers make the payments for you.

Oftentimes, we all have been in situations where we need extra cash to sort out some urgent needs. Traditional loan apps can provide the money, but they’re a bit tricky. They either have a bogus repayment plan or over-inflated interest rates. This is what Relopay aims at solving for techies with a sure source of monthly payments. Although money can be needed for a large variety of stuff, we have narrowed relopay to help with relocations, and maybe other needs if necessary.

The client wanted a simple-to-use app that makes the process of loaning super easy.

easy repayment :Make the loan repayment process as easy as possible. All unnecessary steps should be ignored completely.

To do this, we needed to answer a vital question. Who needs relopay? Nigeria is currently the most populous black nation in the world, and bringing such a new concept into its market would require a lot of energy. This is why we have streamlined our focus to techies who are a bit exposed to how the credit-based economy works.

With this said, we were able to hold a couple of interviews with potential users.

We were able to carry out competitive analysis on products that provides similar solutions to ours, and our analysis led to us perfectly understanding what they’ve done right and what could be better in their processes.

There is a need to verify an account before it can be eligible for loans. This helps us confirm employment and have an agreement with their employers on repayments.

Applying for a loan is as easy as it gets. We’ve eliminated all the extra jargon and trimmed it all into a single page. You only get to check 3 boxes and a confirmation screen to get loans!

In case of issues with payments, we have added the ability to report and download transaction receipts as mistakes are bound to happen.

You need not go through vigorous processes to verify yourself. Verification on Relopay has been reduced to a one-paged process. The profile page shows a quick summary of each User’s loans & repayments.

Relopay is currently under development. Further iterations will be posted after we’ve gathered feedback from our first users.

Throughout the project, I maintained clear communication with the client, providing regular updates and seeking their input on design decisions. This allowed me to ensure that the application met their users' needs and expectations, and that any issues or concerns were addressed in a timely manner. By working collaboratively with the client, I was able to create an application that truly reflected their brand identity and intentions for their users.

Overall, this app project was a great opportunity to showcase my skills as a freelance designer and to put my ux research skills in to proper use.
