The client had a small Meta ads budget: R1000 for the month.
The initial campaign launched with 7 creatives, but results were underwhelming: low conversions and not enough data for Meta to effectively optimise for purchases.
Without decisive intervention, the budget risked being wasted on an underperforming strategy.
The Solution
Midway through the month, I audited performance and made a sharp pivot.
❌ Killed the original ASC campaign
✅ Launched a new manual campaign using only the 3 top performing creatives
➡️ Shifted the optimisation goal from Purchases to Add to Cart, giving Meta’s algorithm more signals to work with in a low-volume environment.
With just R420 ad spend left for the month, the new campaign delivered a 4.52x ROAS.
