Careership App Design

Raza Ul Mustafa

Project Overview

Careership is an innovative career development app that aims to redefine how individuals explore, learn, and grow in their careers. It combines interactive learning, mentorship, live events, and a vibrant community network to deliver a deeply personalized experience. This project focused on designing an intuitive and engaging interface that supports diverse user goals, from discovering interests to becoming mentors or participating in live educational events.
The design journey centered around enabling a seamless experience for users to:
Select interests during onboarding
Choose and manage subscription packages
Access categorized courses
Host or join live events
Engage with the LMF (Learning, Mentoring, Feedback) Network
Share feedback and track their progress

My Role

As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for:
Leading the user experience strategy and interaction design
Designing high-fidelity mockups for all major flows: onboarding, subscription, learning, mentorship, and events
Creating intuitive user journeys, wireframes, and visual UI components
Collaborating with stakeholders and developers to align design intent with functionality
Incorporating user feedback and usability testing insights into iterative design improvements

Working Process

Discovery & Research

Conducted competitor analysis to identify gaps in existing career development platforms
Mapped user personas and journeys focusing on learners, mentors, and event hosts
Defined key use cases for personalization, live interaction, and progress tracking

Wireframing & Prototyping

Created low-fidelity wireframes to outline the core app structure
Developed mid- to high-fidelity prototypes for testing the onboarding, subscription, and course flows
Validated interaction models for gestures, iconography, and navigation patterns

UI Design

Established a visual style guide with typography, color schemes, and UI components
Designed screens with consistent visual cues, including interest icons, badge systems, and progress indicators
Ensured accessibility and responsiveness across devices

User Testing & Iteration

Collected early feedback via clickable prototypes
Refined interface elements based on testing around subscription decisions, mentor discovery, and course navigation
Added gamified elements (badges, certificates) to enhance engagement
