As a student at the University of Exeter, I was commissioned along with 5 other students to write about a topic of my choice in honour of International Women's Day. The blog had to focus on:

I chose to write about the glaring lack of female film composers in Hollywood. I did case studies on two composers, Rachel Portman and Hildur Guðnadóttir, and explored the depressing stats associated with female composers.

I loved that I could use the skills I've gained in my degree in research on film and music and yet write something which was not going to be graded. I felt an immense freedom in writing this piece, and I felt extremely proud of it.
