THE OPPORTUNITY

BunkerEx is a leading provider of technology solutions for the energy and maritime industry. However, they faced significant inefficiencies when updating customers on their order status. This required a seamless solution to link their private database with an intuitive mobile app.
They approached Goodspeed with the challenge of designing and developing a mobile app that would seamlessly link to their private database and provide clients with real-time updates on their order status.

DESIGN PROCESS

USER RESEARCH

The primary audience was not tech-savvy, necessitating a simple and intuitive app design. We started with low-fidelity wireframes, iterating through feedback from both the client and their customers.

HIGH FIDELITY DESIGN

Keeping the core audience in mind, we designed using Figma. We considered a convenient user interface and a user experience that worked for both the admins and their clients. The entire app was designed by the team within two weeks before transferring it to Bubble.

DEVELOPMENT

We developed a mobile app on Bubble, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We used Zapier to link their private data to automatically update the order status from Google Sheets, and ensure their privacy.

NATIVE MOBILE APP

We developed a native mobile app using Bubble, available on both the App and Play Store. Key features included:
Push notifications for order status updates which significantly enhance user experience.

SAFELY AUTOMATING ORDER STATUS

To save the client hours of manual work, we automated order status updates using Google Sheets, Zapier, Bubble's API Connector, and custom code. Ensuring data security was a top priority due to the sensitive nature of pricing information.

UPLOAD & DOWNLOAD CSVs

Customer experience was a high priority, enabling users to do what they needed without contacting the core team. For this, we gave users the ability to create custom filters to download CSVs with only the data and order information they need. Admins also had an easy-to-use admin dashboard for them to tweak anything as necessary.

DOWNLOAD CUSTOMISABLE PDFs

Beyond just order status, the client wanted customers to be able to find all the relevant documents. To enable them to download PDFs for orders, we pulled data from the API via the private database. We stored this in our Bubble database, displaying the data in repeating groups, and used custom code to generate PDFs from the repeating group data.
