Humanizing Holidu: A Brand Evolution
Holidu, a fast-growing vacation rental platform, sought to redefine its identity—moving beyond a tech-driven search engine to build a deeper emotional connection with both travelers and property owners. The challenge was to evolve the brand without losing recognition while unifying two platforms into a seamless experience.
Rather than a full overhaul, we refined and evolved Holidu’s identity to feel more warm and inviting. The brand shifted from "Wise and Innocent" to "Caring and Innocent," centering on an "Invitation to Happiness" theme. Visuals evoked relaxation and freedom, incorporating elements like hammocks, smiles, and open doors. The new logo subtly integrated an "H" with a welcoming human figure, and a warmer color palette replaced the corporate blue, reinforcing approachability.
Through usability testing with 200 respondents, the refined identity successfully balanced transformation with continuity. The new brand resonated with both hosts and travelers, strengthened Holidu’s market position, and gained industry recognition—earning a spot in a top travel branding ranking by Jung von Matt. This project highlights how thoughtful design bridges strategy and emotion to create lasting impact.
