Nostalgia is one of the most shareable feelings there is. NNPS Nostalgia Builder is a love letter to a specific Nigerian primary-school childhood — Viju Milk, Bobo Juice, the dreaded Koboko, frog jumps, cabin biscuits — turned into a playful, interactive toy that alumni actually want to send to their group chat.
What I built
You drag and drop the items that defined your school days onto a green chalkboard, give yourself a nickname, then hit "Analyze My Vibe." An AI reads your selection and hands back a persona — THE NOISE MAKER, MUMMY'S PET, THE TRENCHES SURVIVOR — complete with a made-up "DNA" breakdown and a warm, funny roast. Then you share it.
The whole thing is built to feel tactile and fun: draggable items, double-tap to rotate, stamps, and a one-tap share to send your result to the group.
How it's made
Design: the full concept, illustration direction, and playful UI — the chalkboard, the inventory shelf, the typography
Build: JavaScript and Vite, styled with Tailwind, deployed on Vercel
AI: Mistral AI generates each persona, the DNA breakdown, and the roast from the items you choose, with graceful fallbacks and retries when the model formats things unexpectedly
Why it matters
This one is pure craft and delight — proof that "AI feature" doesn't have to mean a chatbot. It shows I can take a cultural insight, design something joyful around it, wire real AI into the core experience, and ship it as a thing people genuinely share.
A shipped, playful web app where school alumni drag childhood memories onto a chalkboard and an AI reads their 'vibe' — assigning a nostalgic persona and a affectionate roast.
