Last month, a very special Dubai “P7” license plate broke a world record when it sold for a whopping 55 million Dirhams (AED)— the equivalent of nearly $15 million. The charity auction was, of course, attended by the multi-millionaires and billionaires of the UAE, whose massive bids on vanity plates helped raise money for the One Billion Meals Endowment. Now, the vanity plate has resurfaced on one of the few cars in the world that can match it for opulence and exclusivity, the equally one-of-a-kind Linea D’Oro Mansory Edition Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The license plate sits proudly on the exclusive Cullinan in a recent video posted by NVM Motorworks, where the luxury car was receiving in-house bespoke PPF templates. A record-breaking license plate adorning a gold-encrusted one-of-its-kind Mansory Cullinan — it doesn’t get much flashier than this.

Dubai's P7 Vanity Plate Broke World Records At Auction

If you’re wondering why anyone would want to pay such an exorbitant amount for a license plate, you’ve probably never been to Dubai. Each year, the richest people in the UAE gather at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jumeirah Beach for the “Most Noble Numbers” auction. The auction, sponsored by Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, benefits a food-aid charity known as the One Billion Meals Endowment. The Most Noble Numbers auction gives bidders a chance to own unique special interest plates and vanity plates, which are symbols of status and exclusivity. Since the plates being auctioned are the only ones of their kind, the values can shoot through the roof. The previous record for the most expensive license plate was set at this very auction in 2008 by registration number “1,” with a mind-blowing sale of 52.2 million Dirhams, or $14.2 million.
A cynic might be quick to point out that the auction is just a chance for the rich to flaunt their wealth and own exclusive vanity plates under the guise of charity. Be that as it may, the auction does raise a lot of money for those in need. This year, a total of 97.92 million Dirhams, or $26.7 million, was raised for the One Billion Meals Endowment, with the sale of the “P7” license plate putting no small dent in that figure. The plate’s record-breaking sale of $15 million will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. The winning bid was reportedly placed by Pavel Valeryevich Durov, a French-Emirati businessman and founder of the Telegram app who is also the richest resident of the UAE with a fortune of $15.1 billion. Plate “P7” was advertised on a stunning white and blue Bugatti Divo during the auction, itself an ultra-rare hypercar with only 40 in existence. Now, the license plate has moved on to even more exclusive territory with a Rolls-Royce Cullinan customized by Mansory.

The Ultra-Luxurious Cullinan Is The “Rolls-Royce” Of SUVs

With top-of-the-line features, the Cullinan is Rolls-Royce’s answer to the luxury SUV market. Few SUVs can go toe-to-toe with the power and lavishness of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, with only the Bentley Bentayga or the Mercedes-Maybach GLS able to hold a candle to that contest. All-wheel drive comes as standard on the Cullinan, as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission. The big-body SUV is powered by a 6.7-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, which can put out up to 592 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. With all of this power, the 3-ton SUV can go from 0 to 60 mph in an impressive 4.5 seconds. The Cullinan achieves all of this while keeping the cabin nice and quiet, as consumers have come to expect from a Rolls-Royce. The luxury carmaker has even gone the extra mile to bring passengers the most velvet-smooth ride comfort imaginable with the Cullinan’s suspension. The auto-adjusting air suspension is aided by a road-scanning camera that smooths out even the bumpiest of pavement.

The Gold-Flaked Linea D’Oro Mansory Edition Cullinan

Luxury car modification brand Mansory really didn’t hold back when they got their hands on this Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The exclusive SUV has some impressive and eye-catching features. What is most striking at first is the two-tone paint, which fades from Tiffany blue in the front to black in the rear. The custom house has played with this kind of dual-tone paint before, and it's always exciting to see. There are lots of 18-carat gold details integrated everywhere you look, in the car body, paintwork, and the additional forged carbon fiber parts. The hood is just one of these custom carbon fiber parts, made from scratch by Mansory. The integrated gold flakes sparkle on the carbon fiber finish and guide your eyes up front to the Spirit of Ecstasy, Rolls-Royce’s iconic hood ornament. This time, the Spirit of Ecstasy is made of glass, finished in the same Tiffany blue as the paintwork.
Mansory have added another front light to the bespoke Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The large waterfall grille is illuminated, as well, and changes color from Tiffany blue to glossy black depending on which angle you view it from. There are more custom forged carbon fiber parts on the exterior of the car, including the side splitter and rear spoiler, which are all integrated with gold. A glossy pinstripe runs the length of the SUV and shines with those same 18-carat flakes. Mansory have even integrated gold work into the monoblock wheels, which are custom 24 inch Mansory FD.15 forged rims. It’s safe to say that this Cullinan is not going off-roading anytime soon, even with the all-wheel drive capabilities. Around the back, Mansory have crafted custom exhaust tips— and the noise sounds incredible. A rectangular F1 inspired rear brake light sits at the bottom of the car, between the two exhaust tips.
Inside, the opulence continues. The Mansory logo projects onto the pavement as you open the door and are greeted with even more Tiffany (robin's-egg) blue. Everything is finished in a perforated the special robin's-egg blue leather with gold piping and even more gold flakes— even the key is finished in the same hue. Gold flakes embellish the steering wheel, center console, and dashboard. A button on the dash operates the door to close it softly as you place your feet on lambs-wool floor mats. Above you, the Shooting Star Headliner shines like a galaxy with little fiber-optic lights. Mansory have once again crafted an impeccable and unique experience.
