🔎 Overview

Lift Plan It aims to develop a comprehensive platform to streamline and unify the crane lifting industry. Motivated by an interest in a new industry and the potential for significant improvements, we created this software for companies involved in crane lifts. The main objectives are to facilitate the development of lifting plans and enhance operational efficiency.

🤝 Problem & Solution

The crane lifting industry lacked a unified platform for creating crane lifts, managing finances, and handling project workloads. Companies relied on multiple disconnected tools, causing inefficiencies and increased risks. Lift Plan It addresses these issues by providing an all-in-one platform that creates and manages detailed lifting plans, effectively manages finances and project workloads, allows for adding and managing cranes and operators, and ensures comprehensive documentation management for compliance and safety.

🦾 Challenges

Developing Lift Plan It presented several unique challenges. Entering an unfamiliar industry required us to rapidly gain a deep understanding of crane lifts, with significant assistance from the client’s team. Additionally, addressing the diverse user base—ranging from office staff to crane operators—necessitated creating distinct functionalities while maintaining a cohesive user experience. Managing extensive data, including lift plans and compliance documents, also posed a complexity that our team tackled through thorough research and collaboration. Lastly, ensuring scalability as the platform grew involved carefully planned enhancements to both functionalities and infrastructure.

🛣 Process

The journey of designing Lift Plan It began with understanding the crane lifting industry's unique needs. Extensive research and feedback highlighted key pain points in managing lifts, finances, and project workloads. Armed with these insights, our design team focused on creating a solution that prioritized efficiency, user-friendliness, and compliance with industry standards.
Branding
The first step was to create a strong brand identity for Lift Plan It. We developed a branding strategy that reflected the platform's core values of reliability, precision, and innovation. This included designing a logo, selecting a color palette, and creating brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
Wireframing
With a clear vision in mind, we transitioned to the wireframing and prototyping phase. Using industry-standard design tools, we sketched out the basic structure and functionality of the platform, ensuring every element served a purpose and contributed to a seamless user experience. Our goal was to create an intuitive interface that catered to both office staff and crane operators.
Iterative Design Process
Design is an iterative process, and we embraced this philosophy wholeheartedly. We conducted multiple rounds of feedback and refinement, soliciting input from both internal stakeholders and target users. Each iteration brought us closer to our goal of creating a design that not only looked visually appealing but also functioned flawlessly across all devices.
Mobile Optimization
Recognizing the need for on-the-go access, we prioritized mobile optimization from the outset. We ensured that Lift Plan It was fully responsive, providing a seamless experience on smartphones and tablets. This allowed crane operators and project managers to access crucial information and manage tasks efficiently, regardless of their location.

Lift Plan It significantly improved operational efficiency, with users reporting a 73% reduction in time spent on planning and managing lifts. The platform's robust data management capabilities minimized errors and ensured compliance with industry standards, resulting in fewer project delays. Users found the platform intuitive and praised the all-in-one management of tasks, equipment, and financials. The phased approach to functionality, starting with lift planning and expanding to a comprehensive CRM system, allowed the platform to scale effectively.
