Project Management for US-based Learning App Pilot in Malaysia

The project was to conduct a beta test for a learning app that targets foundational numeracy and literacy skills for learners aged five to eight years old in Malaysia.

The goal was to facilitate wider acceptance and implementation of the product in schools across Malaysia.

I conducted initial user needs interviews with eight pilot schools and learning centers in Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Sarawak. After understanding their needs, I designed and developed materials for training over 50 teachers to use the product. I also trained and managed 7 learning facilitators to support each school.

To deepen our understanding of the user’s experience and learn more about product-market fit, I led field research by interviewing more than 30 teachers and students and conducting more than 30 class observations.

Teacher training materials that can be used by the company for future pilots

Synthesis of user research derived from interviews and observations of product use in the field. This report is used by the company to improve their product for better product-market fit with the Malaysian market

Successful onboarding for product usage across all 8 schools with over 600 student users

All 8 schools have continued to use the learning app beyond the project’s end date and are self-sufficient to run literacy programs using the app for new batches of students.
