My Role: UI/UX Designer
Introduction: Intery is a trip-planning app that allows its users to plan and organize their, trips based on their budget. It allows users to book flights, and accommodations, hire a car, and get tour guide agencies.
My Role: I played a key role in the user research and user interface design, of the project from end to end. Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with a UI/UX designer (Adokiye Boywhyte) to ensure that the design was user-friendly and intuitive. I was able to leverage my experience and expertise to develop a comprehensive and effective solution.

Problem Statement

Despite the growing number of trip-planning apps available, many users still struggle to find a platform that allows them to easily plan and organize their trips based on their budget. Intery aims to solve this problem by offering a comprehensive trip-planning platform that allows users to book flights, accommodations, car rentals, and tour guide agencies all in one place. However, to achieve this goal, Intery must address several key pain points, including the difficulty of finding affordable options, the complexity of booking multiple components of a trip, and the lack of trust in some tour guide agencies. By addressing these pain points and providing a user-friendly platform that prioritizes affordability and convenience, Intery can become the go-to platform for travelers looking to plan and book their trips

Goal

The goal is to create a user-friendly and intuitive trip-planning platform that allows users to easily plan and organize their trips based on their budget. We will achieve this by designing a clean and simple interface that makes it easy for users to navigate the platform and find what they're looking for. We will also incorporate personalized recommendations and social sharing features that encourage engagement and help users discover new travel options. By prioritizing user experience and engagement, we aim to create a platform that users love to use and return to for all their travel needs.

Design Process

Design Process
Design Process
To begin the design sprint, we followed the popular five-step design process: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Design, and Test. We divided these processes into various group research activities to gain a deeper understanding of our users and help them achieve their goals. By following this structured approach, we were able to develop a solution that meets the needs of our users and delivers a seamless travel planning experience

Empathize

User Research: We carried out an online survey using Google Forms to observe any pattern & similarity in what the potential user may want, A total of 20+ people responded to the survey which assisted in understanding them better.

Survey
After conducting a survey, we discovered several key insights about user preferences and pain points. We found that most users prefer to travel in a group and place a high value on having a tour guide to facilitate sightseeing. Additionally, we learned that users rely heavily on websites to gather information for their trips and that accommodation is a top priority. We also discovered that users often struggle to find interesting places to visit, while transportation is typically the easiest part of planning a trip. Armed with these insights, we focused on addressing these pain points and creating a solution that meets the needs of travelers looking for a more comprehensive and user-friendly travel planning experience
Competitive Analysis: On completing the initial ideation stage our next step was to research our competitors and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. we conducted a thorough analysis of several competitors, including Wakanow, Bookings, Trip, and Skyscanner. Through our research, we discovered that many of our competitors did not offer tour guide services or a way for users to plan their trips on a specific budget. We identified an opportunity to differentiate ourselves by focusing on these areas and providing users with a more comprehensive and affordable travel planning experience. By prioritizing user needs and focusing on our unique value proposition, we were able to develop a solution that meets the needs of travelers looking to explore new destinations on a budget. Below is a view of our analysis.

Define

User Personas: By synthesizing the results of the survey we created user personas with the user's motivations, frustrations, and goals. This helped us to understand the user better to solve the problems and design the product.
