Client Overview

The client requested a modern and engaging blog for AnotherStupidWeek, aiming to deliver witty content with a playful, satirical edge. The goal was to create a visually appealing, user-friendly blog that aligned with the client’s branding and functionality requirements.

Client’s Requirements

Logo in Header for consistent branding.

Category section featuring tweets related to content, displayed in the sidebar.

Featured images to appear only on the homepage, not within posts.

Better-looking links to internal articles for enhanced aesthetics.

Social media share buttons at the end of articles.

Color scheme alignment with the logo.

Suggestions for speed optimization and improved aesthetics.

Integration of a Mailchimp newsletter signup form.

Design & Development Process:

1. Concept & Planning

I started with wireframes and mockups based on the client’s brief, focusing on a simple and intuitive layout that would showcase the content while also reflecting the blog’s humorous tone.

2. Platform & Tools Used

WordPress as the CMS to ensure easy content management and scalability.

Elementor Pro for creating custom, responsive layouts that cater to both desktop and mobile users.

Canva for designing visual elements such as featured images and icons that aligned with the blog’s branding.

Mailchimp for adding a newsletter signup form to boost audience engagement.

3. Key Features Implemented

Header Logo: Incorporated the client’s logo in the header, ensuring it was present across all pages for strong branding.

Category Section with Tweets: Created a sidebar category section where related tweets are dynamically displayed to add a more interactive element.

Featured Posts Customization: Set up featured post images to only appear on the homepage, keeping the posts themselves clean and focused on content.

Stylish Internal Links: Enhanced internal links with custom styling, ensuring better integration with the overall design aesthetics.

Social Sharing Buttons: Added social media sharing buttons at the end of each article for increased user engagement.

Color Alignment: Updated the website’s color scheme to match the logo, ensuring visual cohesion throughout.

Site Speed Optimization: Implemented performance-boosting strategies like caching and image optimization to ensure fast loading times.

Mailchimp Integration: Added a dedicated Mailchimp signup section to increase newsletter subscriptions.

4. Final Delivery

The blog was fully customized to meet the client’s needs. I provided ongoing communication throughout the process, including Zoom calls to review progress, making adjustments according to the client’s feedback.
