Rancer – Cash-Flow Timing and Decision-Simulation Product

A walkthrough of the Rancer product – cash-position dashboard, invoices and obligations, receivables risk, and the scenario simulator in action.
Rancer is a cash-flow timing and decision-simulation tool for service businesses that invoice clients on delay – agencies, consultancies, and studios where profit and available cash rarely move on the same schedule. This is the full product: the application behind the marketing site, covered in a separate case study.
The core of the product is a forecast engine that projects a business's cash position forward from real invoices and recurring obligations, risk-adjusting expected income based on each client's actual payment history rather than treating every invoice as equally reliable. On top of that sits a scenario simulator – a "what if" layer that reruns the same forecast with a hypothetical change (a new hire, a delayed payment) applied, so a decision can be tested before it's made rather than reviewed after the fact.
Built as a full-stack TypeScript application: React on the frontend, Node/Express on the backend, PostgreSQL via Prisma, Supabase for auth and hosting. The forecast and scenario logic are deterministic, pure functions – no external financial API or AI dependency – the product's core value holds up on nothing but the data a business owner actually has. Deployed frontend on Vercel, backend on Railway.
