Xcelerate Auto – EV Purchase Experience Redesign

About the Project
Xcelerate Auto helps drivers buy, lease, and insure electric vehicles - focusing heavily on Tesla and other high-end EVs. While they had a solid backend, the customer-facing purchase flow felt outdated, fragmented, and didn’t match the premium experience they promised.
My task: redesign the entire flow to make it feel modern, easy to use, and built for EV buyers - not just generic car shoppers.
About the Project
Xcelerate Auto helps people buy, lease, and insure electric vehicles, with a strong focus on Tesla and other premium EVs. While the backend systems were solid, the customer-facing purchase flow felt outdated and clunky, especially for a modern EV brand.
I was brought in to redesign the full purchase journey - making it easier to use, more trustworthy, and better aligned with the brand’s premium positioning.
What I Did
I rebuilt the entire multi-step purchase process in Figma, keeping clarity and ease of use at the center.
Designed a guided step-by-step experience for choosing a vehicle, adding financing, selecting warranties, and finalizing the deal
Replaced long static forms with short, focused steps that adjust based on user choices
Made sure it works smoothly across devices, especially for mobile users
Integrated optional add-ons like XCare directly into the flow to increase attachment rate
Built everything with reusable components so the team can evolve the flow over time

The new flow is now the primary path for EV purchases through Xcelerate. It feels smoother, more professional, and easier to complete. Internally, the team has more flexibility to test and improve specific steps without a full redesign.
