Overview

We partnered with Kite.site, an Australian business that helps UGC creators set up content shops online and land deals, to deliver a brand-new website over a 2-month engagement. My role involved designing the new website and working closely with a colleague to see the design implemented correctly using the no-code tool Framer, introducing fresh brand elements, and assisting with some screen designs for their brand new mobile app. Our goal was to create a vibrant, standout brand experience that resonates with Kite.site’s young, dynamic audience.

Challenges

Kite.site faced several challenges. Their existing website did not reflect the capabilities of their app and struggled to make a strong first impression to the demographics who would be using the app. They also sought to increase brand awareness and improve their website’s content structure.
Other key challenge included developing a signup process that would pass user information to the app’s login page, integrating also a blog, documentation center and CMS for easier content updates.
They also requested help to improve the user experience on specific flows on their mobile app.

Research

To ensure I delivered a unique and effective website, I conducted a comprehensive market analysis, focusing on Kite.site’s competitors like Snipfeed, Stan and Billo App. This research helped me understand current industry trends, content creators' expectations, and competitor strengths, which guided my design and later handoff process.

Website redesign

The first major task was redesigning their landing page. Over the course of 2 months, I created a new version of the website, carefully following the requests made by the co-founders, Dave & George. In the end, we successfully addressed Kite.site’s challenge by delivering a fully functional and cohesive brand experience across their website, both on desktop and mobile. We refreshed the brand with a clean, energetic visual language.

Optimised workflow

Within the new website, I managed to design a blog page and a documentation page, which were later implemented and integrated with Framer CMS. This setup empowered the Kite.site team to manage content independently, allowing them to easily update both the blog and documentation center with new articles and posts, ensuring the platform remains up-to-date.

Improving mobile user experience

Later, I focused on refining the app screens, ensuring the app’s design aligned with the new branding elements. This resulted in a cleaner, more consistent interface. The enhancements to the user flows received positive feedback, greatly improving the overall user experience. Both founders, Dave and George, expressed their satisfaction with the new website design and the improvements across mobile app and brand.

Outcome

The new website, built in Framer, showcases an energetic and youthful brand image, resonating with Kite.site’s target audience of UGC creators.
Every landing page was crafted to maximize user engagement and convert visitors into customers.
Improved visual consistency across both the app and the website, strengthening brand identity.
