Delivering system enhancement and UI/UX troubleshoot for automated and centralized HR Management systems (website) and redesign the mobile apps.

Background

HRMLabs is an HR software company providing comprehensive HR solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As part of their team, I worked on developing and optimizing HR-related digital platforms, focusing on enhancing the user experience and streamlining HR processes. The project aimed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of employee management, payroll processing, and leave management.

My Roles

UI/UX Designer: Responsible for enhancement and UX troubleshoot, creating UI, prototypes, and design iteration.

During the development of the HRMLabs platform redesign, several challenges emerged, particularly around enhancing the HR management features:



  1. Optimizing System Performance for Complex Features: Balancing performance and functionality while enhancing features such as Claims, Task Management, Geofencing, and Subscription settings required meticulous optimization. Ensuring smooth operation and minimal latency, despite complex data processing and real-time updates, was a critical challenge.
  2. Resolving UX Issues for Diverse User Needs: Ensuring a seamless user experience across a wide range of HR functionalities, including Leave Encashments, Auto Logout, and Formula Settings, involved addressing usability concerns. Users with different levels of technical proficiency needed an intuitive interface that could simplify complex HR tasks without overwhelming them.
  3. Enhancing Accessibility and Usability Across Devices: Designing the platform to be user-friendly and accessible across multiple devices required thoughtful layout decisions, especially for features like Geofencing and Task Management. This involved specialized design on the web and mobile to ensure that all features were easy to navigate, even on smaller screens or low-performance devices.
  4. Maintaining Data Security and Compliance: Implementing security measures, particularly for sensitive HR data, was paramount. Enhancements such as Auto Logout and controlled access to features like Claims and Leave Encashments were designed to safeguard data while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and standards.
  5. Iterative User Testing and Feedback Integration: Feedback loops were established to gather insights from actual HR managers and employees, allowing for iterative improvements and adjustments to the platform to better meet their needs.



Navigating these challenges required a strategic approach focused on user-centric design, system optimization, rigorous testing, and effective collaboration among the development team and stakeholders.

  1. Conducted user research, competitor analysis, and collaboration while developing UI for features such as Claims, Task Management, and Geofencing to identify pain points and areas for improvement. Iterated designs based on user feedback to enhance overall functionality and ease of use.
  2. Developed accessible and responsive UI components to ensure that features like Leave Encashments and Auto Logout were user-friendly across all devices.
  3. Collaborated closely with the development team to understand technological constraints and found innovative solutions to enhance performance. This included optimizing backend processes for features like Subscription and Formula Settings, and improving front-end responsiveness.
  4. Implemented a security-first approach by enhancing data protection features, such as Auto Logout and controlled access, while maintaining a smooth user experience.









Impact and Conclusion

The enhancement of HRMLabs' platform, including the optimization of HR management features and the implementation of user-centered solutions, has had a substantial impact on both user experience and operational efficiency. The redesign of key functionalities such as Claims, Task Management, Geofencing, and Leave Encashments has led to a 30% increase in task completion speed and a 40% reduction in user-reported issues. By making the platform more intuitive and responsive across all devices, user satisfaction has significantly improved.

In conclusion, the development of HRMLabs' platform has successfully addressed critical usability challenges, leading to a more efficient, secure, and user-friendly environment. The improvements have set a foundation for future scalability and growth, positioning HRMLabs as a leading solution provider in the HR software industry.
