SIDE A / Listening Room Study
The brief
A fictional independent listening room needed a memorable social poster and a short announcement film. This is a self-directed Aksum Studios concept, not a real event or client commission.
The visual idea
Vinyl becomes a sculptural bloom. Concentric grooves catch directional light against an oxblood backdrop; cream serif lettering and generous space keep the title clear. The stone base anchors the composition and contrasts with the folded record surfaces.
The motion
An eight-second silent film opens a circular mask from the red record label, holds the complete poster for five seconds, then closes toward the same center. It is a 2D reveal of still artwork, rather than a moving sculpture or filmed event.
Deliverables and scope
One original raster poster, two supporting Canva layouts and one 1080 × 1350 motion export. Supporting titles and body text are editable; the source poster artwork remains raster.
For your brand
Social graphics start at US$150 for five static designs using supplied approved assets and copy, with one consolidated revision and delivery within one week of an agreed asset-ready kickoff. Original imagery and custom motion are scoped separately. Explore the graphics service: https://contra.com/s/2O7W2OUe-social-media-starter-pack-or-5-branded-graphics
Supporting layouts
The surface study uses a close crop to emphasize the vinyl grooves. The editorial study pairs a smaller complete poster with cream negative space and separate typography. Both 1080 × 1350 layouts were imported into Canva, checked as separate text and image elements, and exported as PNGs.

Campaign roles and intended use
The hero poster introduces the listening-room concept; the surface crop gives the artwork a close-up moment; the editorial layout creates space for a quieter message. These are proposed communication roles, not measured audience or booking results.
