Empowering HealthyYou to move faster and smarter with a design system built to scale with purpose.
Working with Etc. Health at BT Group, I led the creation of Flex, a multi-library design system that empowers the HealthyYou healthtech product team with the speed and precision needed for rapid innovation. Flex includes Variable Modes—leveraging Figma’s variable capabilities—to allow for seamless dark mode designs in seconds, adding maturity and adaptability to the system. It also incorporates Slot Components for flexible, adaptable layouts across various use cases, ensuring consistent, scalable design practices while reducing design debt.
To maintain and evolve Flex, I introduced Flex Hygiene—a bi-monthly review with the product team to assess and refine components—and Flex Forum, a monthly meeting to engage the wider team for input and alignment on system improvements. Beyond building and organizing Flex, I fully documented the system to promote usability and continuity across teams. I also collaborated with squads on pivotal features, including Smart Messaging and the core framework, further enhancing both the functionality and user experience of HealthyYou.
