Virtual Event Branding for Community Engagement

During the pandemic, we were all striving to find a way to connect. For The J, a non-profit community center, they wanted to create a virtual event to get their members to interact in a safe, fun and active way. My goal was to create marketing materials to express excitement and convey motion. The event was titled The J Virtual 5K an event that included outdoor running, biking, swimming and hiking. Since The J was still required masks in the building during this time, not many people were working out inside. They wanted to get their members back into fitness by participating in this event. I utilized the green color to express energy and the teal to keep to The J’s brand. The arrows used in this design communicated motion and liveliness. I created a logo that was displayed across social media, website, posters and a t-shirt. This t-shirt was a fun way to emulate the traditional 5K that has race bibs and is a commemorative item for members.
