Pink Penguin / Branding

PINK PENGUIN

This is a branding project of the Pink Penguin short film festival, which was a small scale student-run event held at our art school. The designs are not put into production, nevertheless, I would like to share this interesting project with you, and hope you will love the little penguin as I do.

Here is the revised version based on the former teamwork with Yuanyu Lin.

| Background story 

Long, long time ago, there was a penguin, and it found a pink chip bag. Out of curiosity, it got into the bag and whoosh, found itself in a strange world, where everything is made of snacks. Here the wonderful journey began.

Based on the story, we used the shapes of snacks as design elements: popcorns, potato chips, corn chips, bugles, and snack sticks. They are the components of the snack world as well as the delicacy you long for when you are watching a film - perfect elements for a film festival.

The snack elements can also be found in the collage-style design, showing how our little penguin playing with snacks in this tasty world. These graphics are also used as giveaway stickers for our festival visitors.

Where is the penguin now? Well, it could be anywhere, since the snacks are everywhere. 

You might also find it on the bracelet ticket, the popcorn basket, the tote bag, etc. There is no fixed pattern for it, and the design can literally vary every time. In the end the little penguin just wants to try everything new and fresh in the snack world. 

On the outside wall of the art school? Sure. 

Showing up on the underground? Why not. 

That's how ambitious we are.
