The challenge
The goal for Mica McCook's brand identity project was to create a visual identity that reflected her unique storytelling approach to photography. The brand needed to embody qualities such as theatricality, vibrancy, timelessness, and professionalism while staying true to Mica's core belief in the emotional and cultural significance of food.

Our Solution
Drawing inspiration from Mica's vision and preferences, we crafted a brand identity that seamlessly merged sophistication with warmth, elegance with approachability. We incorporated rich, darker colors and red tones reminiscent of quiet luxury, echoing Mica's desire for a brand that stands out while retaining a sense of timeless appeal. The elegant font ligature used in the logo choice added a touch of refinement, aligning perfectly with Mica's professional image.
To further amplify the brand's storytelling aspect, we integrated elements inspired by old scrapbook and vintage handwriting, evoking nostalgia and a sense of heritage. These elements were translated into brand patterns, reminiscent of old family recipes often scribbled on notecards and scratch paper. Additionally, we utilized mockups that embraced the theatrical nature of Mica's work, incorporating strong highlights and shadows, as well as curtain-like visuals, to enhance the overall brand experience and relation to storytelling.
