OpenAI x Handshake Codex Creator Challenge

The campaign

Handshake partnered with OpenAI to launch the Codex Creator Challenge, giving university students $100 in Codex credits to build something with AI and compete for prizes including a year of ChatGPT Plus and up to $10,000 in OpenAI API credits.
The campaign needed a landing page that could do a lot of heavy lifting: explain the partnership, sell the opportunity to students, showcase sponsor involvement, and drive signups. I built it solo.

The build

The page runs on Handshake's Next.js + Sanity CMS stack. Key elements:
Co-branded hero — OpenAI x Handshake lockup with dual messaging: the credit offer for students who already use ChatGPT, and an intro to Handshake for those who don't.
Sponsor bar — logos from Geico, KPFF, L'Oréal, ZS Associates, Uber, UBS, Sikich, JPMorgan Chase, and Salesforce. These are the challenge sponsors, and the logo strip needed to feel premium without overwhelming the page.
Idea carousel — scrolling cards with project prompts ("Build a tool you wish existed," "Create a course registration planner," "Make a study sidekick") to lower the barrier to entry for non-technical students.
How it works section — visual breakdown of what you get ($100 in Codex credits), what you do (build anything), and how to enter (submit by deadline). Clean three-step flow.
Prize callout — a year of ChatGPT Plus and up to $10,000 in OpenAI API credits, framed as a budget to keep building.
FAQ accordion — covering eligibility, how to claim the offer, how to enter, and what Codex is.
Multiple CTAs — 5 conversion points throughout the page, all tracked with UTM parameters for campaign attribution.

The context

This isn't a typical marketing page. It's a partnership between a $3.5B career platform and OpenAI, targeting millions of university students. The sponsor list alone (JPMorgan, Salesforce, Uber, L'Oréal) signals the stakes. The page had to convert students while representing both brands credibly.
Built on Next.js with content managed through Sanity, consistent with the rest of the Handshake marketing platform I maintain.
