THE SIMPSONS MOVIE

When Homer appears as a guest commentator on the cable news show “Headbutt,” a ticker runs across the bottom screen reading: Europe puts Greece on eBay. 3 years later, Greece became the first developed country to default on the International Monetary Fund, plunging the country deeper into an economic crisis.

16 years later; in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, writer Dan Greaney explained the joke was meant as a warning to the country, stating, “That just seemed like the logical stop before hitting bottom; it was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane, but either way it was a real thing; proving yet another Simpson prediction.

SEASON 4, EPISODE 21: MARGE IN CHAINS

“Springfield residents are irritated by establishment politicians and the cooperative media; Moe asks, “Who wants to abolish Democracy forever” but Homer suggests, “Why don’t we just pick the ridiculous candidate and write them in.”

THE SIMPSONS MOVIE 2007

They used “Tom Hanks” in an attempt to regain some normality. So it’s no surprise that, 19 years later, Vanity Fair published the article: “Tom Hanks will soothe the Nation with the Biden Inauguration Special.”

It turns out, Blinky has a real-life counterpart, over a decade ago, Argentina fishermen caught a 3-eyed fish in a reservoir near a nuclear plant-sound familiar? A ZME report quotes one of the fishermen, who recounts their surprise at finding this “rare specimen”. No mention of Mr. Burns’s counterpart in this article, though.

In one of the rare episodes featuring Homer’s half-brother Herb (voiced by Danny Devito), he manages to invent a never-before-seen device that could make him wealthy beyond his wildest imagination. Herb creates a baby translator, which can decode what baby babbling means.

Today, there are quite a few “baby translator” equivalents on the app store. Apps like Cry Translator, Baby Talk Translator, and Zoundream can approximate what an infant’s cry may mean. They’re not quite as sophisticated as Herb’s but there’s no doubt the inventor would be proud of his innovations for reaching influence.

One of the Simpsons Superbowl episodes included a prediction of a musical artist’s performance. In the 2012 episode “Lisa Goes Gaga”, Lady Gaga visits Springfield and performed her songs while flying over an audience, and at one point, played the piano during her concert.

In 2017, Gaga performed at the Superbowl Ll Halftime show performing her greatest hits including “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance“, during her halftime show performance, Gaga was lifted above the audience, later in the show, she also played “A Million Reasons” on the piano.

In 1998, in the episode ” When you wish upon a Star”, Homer met Alec Baldwin (voiced by Baldwin) and Kim Basinger (voiced by Basinger) and decided to work for them. Homer suggested an idea for a movie during his call to 20th Century Fox executives. The next scene of the episode showed that 20th Century Fox was now owned by Walt Disney.

The scene is now among the infamous things that the Simpsons predicted, as in March 2019, Walt Disney announced a $71 billion merger with 21st Century Fox. In 2021, Disney and Fox settled on the steaming rights in terms of the films that Disney would own. In other words, this settled what means movies would be solely on Hulu/ Disney + of HBO Max and the deadline for the agreement.

Simpsons fans assure that the cartoon predicted the Coronavirus Pandemic in 1993, with the chapter: Marge in Chains, which shows the Osaka Flu invading Springfield. Following this line, viewers believe that the animation world was also right about the Omicron Variant, which worries the authorities and the world population in 2021.

In Futurama, ( also made by Matt Groening ), shows aliens from a planet called Omicron appearing on earth. Because of this viewers believe that the series are connected together to highlight the supposed prediction. Here however, the situation is that Omicron is a Greek letter, which makes this prediction a bit far-fetched.

Dreaming about going to Mars, Lisa signs up for a one-day trip to the red planet, despite her mother Marge’s displeasure. This causes the whole family to simultaneously sign up for the trip that should take place in the year 2026. Elon Musk and the team at space X are working to develop cargo ships to mars in 2022.

In an episode that aired in 2001, Bart and his friends are part of a group that is a Navy project to try and control the minds through music by feeding children with subliminal messages. since many still believe that hip-hop music is being used to control the minds of listeners, this development can be considered on the list of predictions that have actually come to pass.

Now viewers are convinced that something even more shocking is foreseen. The Metaverse: A world of endless, interconnected virtual communities where people can meet, work, and play using virtual headsets, augmented reality glasses, smartphones, apps, and other devices.

The project began last year with Marc Zuckerberg and Facebook, now known as “Meta”. And now the Simpsons is said to have predicted this more than 10 years ago. In season 23, episode: Holiday of Future Passed, which first aired in 2011, sees the Lisa Simpsons enter the “Ultranet”. It is told to her that people interact in a immersive online world in scenes that are very similar to the Virtual Reality world.

Although it’s hard to say if it predicted every detail of the Metaverse, it’s no different from the world hinted by Mark Zuckerberg last year.

In this episode, we see that goodbyes are no longer needed as we should stop shaking hands. Recently we have been forced to do the same due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some distance between us, so what will come next? Could we not say goodbye to each other anymore?.

When bart and Homer go on a cross-country journey as truck drivers. While doing so , they encounter a truck convoy, and then the trucks attempt to run them off the road, before blocking the road completely.

In fact, when Homer first spots the truck her says to his son “ Can’t look son, it’s one of natures most beautiful sights, ” referring to the convoy. This episode aired in 1999, many people think that the Simpsons predicted the whole trucker protest situation in 2022.

In an episode in 1997, the Simpsons referred to it. This is from Season 8, titled: “My sister My sitter”, in the episode, there is a scene where Homer and Marge are on a date outside. In the backround, we see a crypto barn with the sign “ A place for codes.”

I would like to voice my opinion on the statement made by the Co-writer of season 4, episode 21‘s Bill Oakley, he made some comments to The Hollywood Reporter in regards to the show and how it has predicted the future and his commentary on how this particular episode is linked to today’s Coronavirus.

Personally; I’m not too sure I wanna believe his theory about the Simpsons predictions because:

“(b) To me, There were and still are way too many of these predictions that have come to pass over the years to make this like just some “Coincidence.” A Coincidence can happen, but I can’t believe it would be just a coincidence; when the show has made many, many predictions the world has seen come to pass over the last 30 years, it has been on the AIR before today.

I think after one or two predictions; maybe I could think “coincidence,” but at this point, I would advise all my wonderful fans and newcomers that:
