Portolan: Brand, Website & Film

Portolan: Brand, Website & Film System. Portolan is my studio: it turns a live product website into a launch film in a day. I designed and built the whole thing end to end: the brand, the website and the film system behind it. A portolan was the first chart to show sailors the true line between two ports. The mark is drawn from it: three families of rhumb lines meeting at one point, the line from a product to the people it is for. The palette comes from the old charts too: ink for the line, red for the route, green for the sea, on a calm paper-white page. What I did: brand strategy, naming story and visual identity; website design and build; three film styles (Narrated, UI Motion, Cinematic) and the production pipeline that makes them from a live site; motion design and the brand film.
