Wool Fiber Sports Shoes: Enhanced Performance and Comfort

Problem

The footwear industry has been struggling to find a way to enhance the performance of sports shoes while maintaining comfort and breathability. Südwolle Group, a manufacturer of worsted yarns in pure wool, approached us with a challenge to develop footwear that would offer natural qualities of wool fibers for sports activities.

Our team had to come up with a solution that would effectively meet the objective of enhancing the potential of the footwear while keeping it comfortable and breathable. We have been using our  innovative intarsia 3D knitting machine that could knit countless intarsia items for designing any kind of seamless uppers.

Solution

We have been using a twisted specific fibers for this purpose, which allowed us to enhance the potential of the footwear while keeping it comfortable and breathable. Our team have been working with our  innovative intarsia 3D knitting machine that offers the possibility to knit countless intarsia items for designing any kind of seamless uppers.

This machine allows us to map different areas according to the type of yarn used and various combinations chosen. This way, we produced a finished shoe body that is ready for application on the sole, which is the last manufacturing stage of the shoe.
