Overview My Retire Score® helps people near or in retirement see how financially prepared they really are. The product runs advanced simulations behind the scenes, but users don’t need to understand any of that. They need one clear answer and enough confidence to take the next step.

My job was to build an experience that delivers that clarity, starting with a landing page that turns curious visitors into people willing to take the free assessment.

The Problem Retirement is a stressful topic, and the audience is skeptical of financial products. The landing page had to:

Explain a sophisticated financial model in plain language

Earn trust quickly with an older, cautious audience

Make starting the assessment feel safe, not like a sales trap

Look modern and intelligent without feeling cold or technical

The hard part wasn’t making it look good. It was making a complex, anxious subject feel simple and calm.

Design Approach I designed around one question a visitor should be able to answer within seconds: “What is this, and is it safe to try?”

A single guided flow, from understanding the problem to seeing the benefit to starting the assessment

Strong headlines and generous spacing so no section competes for attention

Reassuring language about outcomes (confidence, preparedness, peace of mind) instead of jargon or urgency

Visual explanations for abstract ideas like a “readiness score,” so users grasp the concept without reading paragraphs

A calm, soft palette chosen to lower anxiety and signal trust

Highly readable typography sized for an older audience

Consistent spacing and layout rhythm for a structured, steady feel

A reusable Figma component library so new pages and product screens stay consistent as the platform grows

Platform Engineering Beyond the landing page, I contributed to the core product:

A Monte Carlo simulation engine running 10,000+ scenarios to calculate each user’s retirement readiness

AI-generated personalized reports that explain results in plain language

Automated lead assignment connecting qualified prospects with retirement planners

An agent management system for planners, plus Stripe payment processing

A landing page that explains a complex product in seconds

Trust built through clarity and calm design, not pressure tactics

A low-friction path into the free assessment

A scalable design system and frontend foundation for the wider platform as it grows
