Ready for work

Ken is ready for their next project!

Two Halloweens ago, I was given the opportunity to work with Uber Eats on a free candy promotion campaign, where I built the live website that updates each day with a new riddle to solve. The idea was simple, You solve the riddle ๐ŸŽƒ, you get the candy. ๐Ÿฌ The outcome was incredible! ๐Ÿ‘ป 290,000 promo codes used in less than 8 hours! ๐ŸŽƒ 2 million promo codes used by Halloween! ๐Ÿ’€ 44% new Uber Eats users! The campaign turned out to be a huge success, and was the most successful promo code campaign for Uber Eats grocery delivery! Ever! I hope to one halloween do something just as awesome again! Trick or Treat!

๐ŸŽง The Lost Tapes of the 27 Club Back in 2019, I worked on an early phase of The Lost Tapes of the 27 Club, a campaign for Over the Bridge that used AI to imagine new music from artists who tragically passed away at such a young age in their careers. Using Googleโ€™s machine learning tool "Magenta", I helped generate AI-driven compositions inspired by artists like Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison. These pieces became the creative foundation for the campaignโ€™s completed songs. The project highlighted an important message, raising awareness for mental health in the music industry. The campaign became a huge success in such a short time! It remains a highlight of my career, during a year when Rethink Ideas achieved something incredible - winning Gold in all three categories of Agency of the Year! ๐Ÿ†

๐ŸŽฎ GameRx.ca (https://gameRx.ca) โ€“ A Hub for Gaming Wellness by TELUS This past summer, I helped bring GameRx.ca (https://gamerx.ca), a TELUS initiative, to life. A digital hub designed to promote wellness, balance, and community among gamers. The site blends clean design with smooth, game-inspired interactivity to make educational content engaging and accessible. Working as a Creative Developer, I was responsible for: Building the front-end architecture using React and Next.js, ensuring fast load times and responsive layouts across devices. Implementing GSAP-driven animations and micro-interactions to create a polished, modern feel without compromising accessibility. The result is a site that feels both playful and professional, aligning with TELUSโ€™ mission to support healthier digital lifestyles within the gaming community.

๐Ÿ“ King Pong VII โ€“ Playable Ping Pong Poster Back in 2018, Rethink Ideas wanted an interactive website to get employees excited for the annual King Pong tournament. I helped create a web-based interactive poster that turned your phone into a ping pong paddle โ€” built with Three.js. By visiting the site, players could swing their phone like a real paddle to bounce a virtual ball, complete with motion detection and real-time physics. It was a playful way to bring tech and culture together, transforming an event poster into a mini-game that people couldnโ€™t stop showing off. I also textured the ping pong ball in Substance Painter for the design team to use across other campaign visuals. It was an amazing tournament, even though I was terrible at ping pong! ๐Ÿ˜

๐ŸŒ ICOM 2019 -ย The Power of Fusion In 2019, I had the opportunity to help create the digital experience for ICOMโ€™s World Meeting in Vancouver, an annual global gathering of independent advertising agencies. As the Front-End Developer, I built the siteโ€™s interactive 3D hero element using Three.js and the Marching Cubes technique to bring the event theme, โ€œThe Power of Fusion,โ€ to life. The morphing organic forms visualized the blending of cultures, ideas, and disciplines that define the ICOM network. It was a very fun, but technically challenging project to be part of, especially when optimizing the 3D experience for less powerful mobile devices back in 2019. When this site went live, visitors played with it for hours!

๐ŸŒˆ Rebook-it.com (https://Rebook-it.com) โ€“ YWCA Last year, I had the wonderful opportunity to help develop Rebook-it.com (http://Rebook-it.com) for YWCA, a public-facing campaign site created to restore visibility for important cultural and awareness events - including International Womenโ€™s Day, Pride Month, Black History Month, and more - that had been intentionally removed from Google Calendar. As the Front-End Developer, I built the site using React, Tailwind CSS, and Vite, ensuring fast load times and a smooth user experience. The microsite allowed visitors to easily re-add these significant observances to their personal calendars with just a few clicks. This project was especially meaningful, blending thoughtful advocacy with modern front-end development to help keep these vital dates recognized and remembered.

๐Ÿ Maple-Mate โ€“ Interactive Brand Microsite for Maple from Canada Last year, I helped develop Maple-Mate.com (http://Maple-Mate.com) for Maple from Canada. It was an interactive campaign inviting Canadians ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ and Americans ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ to meet up for brunch, with the bill covered by Maple from Canada. It was a fun and engaging project with a lighthearted spirit. ๐Ÿ’ž As the Creative Developer, I brought the concept to life through scroll-controlled animations using GSAPโ€™s ScrollTrigger library, combining smooth motion with responsive layout design to make the experience feel lively and fluid. The campaign site is no longer live, but you can still watch the entertaining case-study video on YouTube: ๐ŸŽฅ Watch the Maple-Mate video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXAWkooDzng)
