I am building a silly little app for #ConfigMakeathon (https://x.com/hashtag/ConfigMakeathon?src=hashtag_click) called My Little Desk. It is a cozy desktop web app for book lovers. It combines a book tracker, pomodoro timer, and ambient music player on a single hand-drawn illustrated desk, designed to live on your monitor while you read on you desk~
The core idea: most book apps are designed to perform your reading life to an audience. My Little Desk is designed to be your reading companion
Features:
Book tracking: search, current read, last reads shelf, TBR pile with drag and drop, progress tracking, and timestamped thoughts
Pomodoro timer with custom illustrated asset, Digital Numbers typeface, color picker, and Web Audio API sound effects
Ambient music player with 12 curated playlists via YouTube Iframe API, CD disc and its jewel case mockup generated with Figma Weave
Beverage picker with 9 drink options, assets created in Figma Draw
Screenshot and shareable to share with your friends and fellow lovers

Built in Figma Make (React/TSX)

Google Books API (book search and metadata)

Supabase (shareable URLs)

Workflow: designed the desk illustration by hand, vectorized in Figma, then built iteratively in Figma Make using short focused prompts. Manual code edits for fine-tuning. Build documented publicly on X throughout.
