Kanban boards, Gantt charts, or a simple shared task list? I have used all three, and here is my honest take: the tool matters less than the habit. A fancy board nobody checks is just decoration.

Before I plan anything, I ask for one thing in writing: what does "done" look like?

Not a feeling. Not "when it feels ready." A clear definition both sides agree on. Most stalled projects I see started because nobody wrote that...

A good dashboard tells you instantly:

✅ Done? How much is finished vs. left

⚠️ Overloaded? Who has too much on their plate

🔴 Late? What's overdue, and who owns it

If you need a meeting to explain your dashboard, it's decoration.
