A one-page portfolio I
My Portfolio A one-page portfolio I designed and built end to end: dark, one loud accent colour, and big uppercase type. The experience Binary intro: two panels of flickering 0s and 1s that settle letter by letter into "CLICK HERE", then slide apart to show the page. Escape, Enter, a scroll or a swipe also opens it, and it never blocks deep links or visitors who turn motion off. Projects that play themselves: hovering a card plays through that product's screens (HR Mitra (https://hrmitra.online/), Sululu.fun (http://Sululu.fun), WhatDish, Kya Khaoon). Live YouTube section: videos and the subscriber count update from the YouTube Data API, with a fixed list to fall back on. Tilted marquees, scroll-reveal animations and polaroid-style "off-duty" cards, all with a Motion on/off switch for accessibility. A language selector using Google's website translator, and a contact form that sends real email. Under the hood Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19 and Tailwind CSS v4, statically rendered and SEO-ready with generated OG/Twitter images, a sitemap and robots.txt The page is server-rendered underneath the intro, so search engines and no-JS visitors see all the content All the text lives in three content files, and a pre-deploy test fails if any placeholder text is left Tested with Vitest unit tests and Playwright end-to-end tests on desktop Chrome and a mobile profile (accessibility smoke checks, no horizontal overflow, the contact form, hover-to-play) Containerised with Docker and deployed to Google Cloud Run through Cloud Build Live: neerajmahapatra.online (http://neerajmahapatra.online)

Cover image for I spent the last year
I spent the last year building the part of AI systems nobody puts in the demo: what happens when things go wrong. Most agent frameworks are built to answer one question, what can this model do? Nexus is built to answer a different one, what happens when it's wrong, and how do we know? Here's what that actually means, in plain terms: Every decision has one owner. No step in the system can quietly act without something else checking it. Writing, deleting, or changing anything real requires a human to say yes or not as a courtesy, but as a hard rule the system can't route around. Nothing is remembered by guesswork. Every action is logged as it happens, in order, permanently. If something breaks, I don't have to reconstruct what happened from memory or hope the logs are enough. I can replay the exact sequence of events and see precisely where it went wrong. Recovery isn't a footnote. A system that fails silently and reports success anyway is worse than one that crashes loudly. Nexus is built so failure is visible, traceable, and recoverable not swept under a "task complete." The result feels less like an agent framework and more like an operating system, one designed around a simple belief: the hard problem in AI isn't making a good decision. It's knowing, with certainty, what actually happened after you made it. Nexus v2.0 just shipped. It's open source, and it's the clearest version yet of everything above.
