Most outdoor brand videos look the same. Beautiful mountain. Golden hour. Someone breathing in the view. Columbia Sportswear could have been that. But the brief was simpler. Remind people why they go outside. Not the gear. Not the destination. Just the feeling. So that's what I chased in the edit. Anything that felt like a commercial I pulled back. Anything that felt like a real moment, I kept. Honestly it's my favourite kind of brief, when the brand trusts the story enough to just let it go. That's when the edit gets out of the way and something real comes through. Working on something like that? I'd love to hear about it.
