I’m proud to reveal the brand evolution for Mercury Labs. In medical research, an identity must balance scientific precision with forward momentum. My approach was to transition their legacy identity into a clean, authoritative wordmark. I integrated a subtle winged sandal motif into the "Y", a nod to the company’s namesake and their drive to accelerate breakthroughs. This system prioritizes scalability, ensuring the mark commands attention on architectural signage while remaining crisp on a lab coat or digital UI. I traded clutter for a stable, professional design that reflects the scale of the work being done inside. It was a pleasure partnering with the Mercury Labs team on this transition. I created a Rive character rig of a cat that follows the mouse cursor, loosely based on a tutorial but heavily customized to make it my own. For example, the eye blinks are set to trigger randomly, using a number generated as the mouse moves, making them feel more natural and less mechanically timed. I also added a subtle shadow at the cat’s feet that moves with its head, giving it a more 3D look. I’m really happy with the tracking and would love to see this implemented in other projects or similar characters. I’ve been having a great time working with Rive and hope to see more people incorporating their own custom interfaces. I’ll share more as I continue creating projects.

I'm getting more into creating YouTube thumbnails, and I really enjoy it. This one was for a gameplay video of a 2D zero-gravity game where you solve problems to repair a space station. The thumbnail that won the A/B testing featured an AI-assisted and Blender 3D models to design the "worst-case scenario." If you have a sharp eye, you might notice the Esperanto flag, as this thumbnail is for an Esperanto channel.
