Little Chip Dental: Toastie 1, tooth 0 🦷 Little Chip Dental, South Fremantle WA. A made-up clinic for the challenge, but you've been to one just like it. It's small and upstairs, with two dentists and a hygienist. Jo runs the front desk and the steri room, often at the same time. Park out back and ring the bell. THE PROBLEM You chip a tooth on a toastie at lunch and want to be seen today. You ring, but Jo's out the back sterilising, so it rings out. You try the next clinic. BEFORE • The phone rings out while Jo's in the steri room. • Jo rings back, writes it in the paper diary and texts directions. • The day before, someone rings again with a reminder. AFTER • Patients book online. They pick a dentist, a treatment and a time, and no phone call is needed. • A confirmation email goes out straight away, with the parking and doorbell directions. • A reminder email goes out at 9am Perth time the day before. • The email has add-to-calendar buttons for Apple, Outlook and Google. • Jo gets a private clinic dashboard (Google sign-in) with each dentist's day, a few counters, and a log of every message sent. • She can hold or release same-day slots, block out lunch, or cancel a booking. Cancelling frees the slot and logs it. • It's built for phones and the whole thing is about 0.6MB. SMS is demo only. No texts actually go out. WHAT IT SAVES JO No answering the phone to take a booking, no ringing back, no writing it in the diary and no reminder calls. The emails go out on their own, and she checks the dashboard when she's back at the desk. The tooth gets fixed Thursday at 3.
