Preppy North: From surplus to supply

I got to make a business idea real for one of my recent clients. Preppy North saw perfectly good organic produce heading for the trash and turned it into a business. Freeze-dried ingredients for BC food manufacturers, made from rescued fruit.

My job was making her website work for her. She is early in her journey, looking for customers and additional funding, and she needed the site up fast. One page, built in a sprint-like fashion.

The client supplied the logo and it was a fun one, so it seemed like a perfect fit for experimenting with the finish layers. The site could be as animated as her logo.

Finish Layer:

Block Animations: a reveal on the strawberries, hover expand on every button I could get away with, and stars that rotate on scroll. I love a good button press.

Block Transforms: rotate and offset on the stars and the oversized numerals so they sit off the grid instead of in it.

Stacks: stacked the text and the 01/02/03 blocks. Stacks are making my life easier and the sites are looking better.

Font Uploads: I have been uploading fonts with custom CSS for years and I am glad it is native now. Staying inside the Squarespace library can sometimes be a challenge in itself. For this project I did not upload custom fonts. I didn't need to!

NestReset is a modern home organization platform that helps homeowners create cleaner, more organized living spaces. The website allows users to explore organization services, book appointments online, and discover practical solutions for every area of the home, from kitchens and closets to garages and entire home resets. Designed with a clean, intuitive interface, NestReset focuses on making home organization simple, accessible, and stress-free.

I used Squarespace's Finish Layer tools to customize the website's layout, refine typography and spacing, improve visual hierarchy, and create a polished, responsive design. I also enhanced the user experience with custom sections, interactive service cards, smooth transitions, and a consistent design system across all pages.

Key Design Decisions:

Clean and intuitive navigation for easy browsing.

Service-based layout with integrated online booking.

Modern homepage showcasing featured organization services.

Consistent typography and spacing for readability.

Before-and-after gallery to demonstrate service results.

For this challenge, I designed KNEAD Bakery—a human-centered bakery brand inspired by the journey of bread from field to table.

When designing KNEAD Bakery's visual identity, I drew inspiration from the journey of bread—from golden wheat fields to the family table. My goal was not only to create an aesthetically pleasing brand but also to build a human-centered identity that reflects craftsmanship, sharing, and the timeless tradition of baking. With this vision in mind, I designed the logo, color palette, and the entire brand identity from scratch.

To support my creative workflow, I used Envato's AI-powered tools throughout the process. With Envato Mockup Gen, I transformed my brand identity into realistic product mockups, experimenting with different prompts and iterations until I found the visuals that best represented the brand. I then used Video Gen to turn the design process into a dynamic presentation that showcases both the creative journey and the final outcome.

I intentionally chose warm earth tones, natural textures, and rustic imagery to communicate authenticity and comfort. The logo combines the sun, wheat, and a loaf of bread to symbolize growth, craftsmanship, and the journey from harvest to shared meals. Throughout this project, I used AI not as a replacement for creativity, but as a tool to enhance my design process while keeping every creative decision centered on people. The result is KNEAD Bakery—a brand I created from the ground up with a human-centered approach, designed to tell a meaningful story through every visual element.
