The Editor Behind Every Story
Concept
For this reinterpretation, I imagined CapCut not as a tool, but as a lifelong storyteller—the invisible editor helping us make sense of the moments that shape who we become.
The film follows a young man who discovers a letter written by his 10-year-old self. As he revisits the dreams, expectations, and promises contained in the letter, he realizes that while life did not unfold exactly as planned, every experience, relationship, and memory became part of a story still being written.
CapCut is reimagined as the editor behind every story—quietly helping us preserve, connect, and give meaning to the chapters of our lives.
Creative Process
The visual development began inside CapCut Design Studio, where I explored references and inspiration from the existing asset library to establish the emotional tone and visual language of the film.
Using Design Studio, I generated the key still images for each scene, developing the characters, environments, and cinematic moments that would form the narrative. These images became the visual foundation of the project.
The generated stills were then animated and sequenced in Runway to create motion, allowing the story to unfold through a series of interconnected moments and memories. Throughout the process, the focus remained on creating an emotional journey that reflected the film's central idea: that every life is a story still being edited.

I decided to re-imagine CapCut as a co-working space for creatives, where you can work all day (or all night), always fueled by free coffee on tap ☕
There's the "timeline lounge", where you can go when you want to network and share ideas, but also individual pods where you can go in and take a call or record audio 🎤
Essentially, this is a space that, much like the current CapCut brand, tailors itself for creatives and meets you where you're at, whether you're a morning person or night owl, or even if you're working away on your 5 to 9 until you can leave your 9 to 5.
Heck, bonus points if you are a video editor and you go there to edit using CapCut! (they should give out free memberships to whoever does that IMHO) 🤩

Your next buyer will research you in ChatGPT before they ever open your homepage.
They type the problem, read the paragraph a model writes back, and shortlist the two companies it described most clearly.
You don't write that paragraph. The model does, by reading every surface you own at once and keeping whatever it trusts most.
If your homepage, your LinkedIn, and your Crunchbase don't tell the same story, it picks one. Sometimes the wrong one. Always with total confidence.
Brand consistency just stopped being a design preference and became whether a machine can describe you at all.
