Day 6: Last Seen is spreading
Last week I asked Reddit what closed places people still think about. 217,000+ people saw the question. 1,982 left an answer.
So I built somewhere to put them.
lastseen.city is a dual-layer archive, red for places that are gone, amber for places still here but worth finding before they're not. Seeded with 100+ locations across London, New York, Liverpool, Paris, and beyond, built from real memories people left in the comments.
Six days in:
- 990 visitors, 2,316 page views
- 60 countries reached
- 344K Reddit impressions
First entries now in California, India, and Germany. Nobody asked for it to go global. It just did.
Still deep in UI/UX, the experience needs to match the emotional weight of what people are actually sharing here. More on that soon.

Every website starts long before the first screen is designed.
For this concept, we began with a moodboard: tea ceremony photography, botanical elements, natural textures, and a calm earthy palette.
Those references shaped the visual direction, typography, colors, and overall atmosphere of the website.
The goal isn't to copy the moodboard, but to transform inspiration into a cohesive digital experience.
