𝗜 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝟬𝘀.
Back then, life was simple. No mobile phones, no OTT, no watching a new movie every other week. English movies? Forget it, that wasn't even part of our world.
But we had one thing that gave us our first taste of a superhero universe, way before Shaktiman ever aired on TV. That one source was comics.
We grew up with 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗷, 𝗗𝗵𝗿𝘂𝘃, 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝗮, and 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂. We solved mysteries alongside Secret Agent Ram Rahim and Crookbond. We laughed our hearts out with Fighter Toads and Hawaldaar Bahadur.
Every one of us, at some point, dreamed of being a superhero kicking some serious villain ass.
Then life happened. College, jobs, deadlines. We got busy, and we forgot those simple but incredibly interesting stories.
In 2006, I found my way back. Collected a good pile of old comics, sat down, and read them all over again. It felt like meeting an old friend. Then life pulled me away again.
A few days ago, I was hunting for old Ram Rahim reprints and stumbled onto a website called JH Comics. They actually stock this stuff. I placed an order, and it arrived right on time.
But while I was there, one thing stuck with me: the website itself didn't feel like it belonged to the world it was selling. No comic book energy, no visual personality, nothing that made me feel the way those covers used to.
So I did what any restless designer would do. I redesigned it.
Cream paper tones, bold ink black, halftone textures, tilted cover art, stamp badges. The idea was simple: if you're selling nostalgia, the shopping experience should feel like nostalgia too.
I'm not fully sure if I nailed the direction. But here it is, as a first draft, open to eyes, opinions, and honest feedback.
